Do or do not. There is no try.
If you know what the title to this post is from then you have all the power you need to succeed. For me, there is no half way. Either I do or I do not finish something. It all depends on whether or not it appeals to me. Reading - do. Exercise - do not. So how can I get myself to exercise and not quit? I've tried reading while walking on the treadmill and it actually works as long as I'm not running at top speed. Also the Wii Fit has a running module where you can watch another channel and the Wii will still track your progress and even give you little bursts of encouragement through the wii-mote speaker (plug to get Wii people). If you take the "try" out of what you need to do then all of a sudden it just becomes an automatic "do".

Two things...
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I'm glad you made that reference.
Secondly, I just saw a short piece on CNN about this treadmill they bought that is attached to a desk/work station. It moves slow enough so that you can actually type, read, etc. The idea is that people will spend their entire workday walking. Because it's a slow pace you won't become exhausted, but over the course of the day you get all of the exercise you need.
If I can find the video I'll post it up.
OK, i need a Wii or the treadmill/desk thing. Let's take up a collection for the old lady!
ReplyDeleteI want to know where the reference is from! Clue me in!
